Hi, I’m Adrienne Burton, and I’d love to inspire you to recognize your immense power for healing, growth and immeasurable joy!
As a child, I was curious, energetic, and a bit “odd” — always asking questions and seeking new experiences, but struggling to fit in. My journey began in Norman, Oklahoma, where I was raised by my remarkable mother, Phyllis Alexander. Yet I faced bullying and a deep sense of disconnection, constantly searching for my true self. This internal struggle reached a breaking point in high school, leading me to attempt suicide. I didn’t know it then, but that moment of profound despair would later become the turning point for the transformative journey that awaited me.
Life took another unexpected turn when I became a mother at 16. The weight of early
motherhood, coupled with the emotional wounds from my past, created a complex and overwhelming landscape to navigate. But I pressed on. I completed high school, pursued higher education, and moved across the country with my daughter, Jasmine, to start anew.
What followed was the beginning of a seemingly successful career in business and technology consulting — a career that appeared perfect on the surface. As a driven high achiever, I worked long and hard for my success and not until I burned myself out and had a complete mental and emotional breakdown, did I wake up to my life. I had masked my deep pain with achievements, addiction, and a facade of strength, ignoring the warning signs that something was deeply wrong. Anxiety, depression, and an undiagnosed ADHD became my constant companions. I was climbing the ladder of success but losing touch with the things that truly mattered: joy, connection, and authenticity.
The wake-up call came when I hit rock bottom. After a mental health crisis, and with the encouragement and support of my husband, Will, I took medical leave from my job, which eventually led to a 3½-year journey of profound healing and self-discovery. It wasn’t easy. I faced the harsh truths that I had spent years avoiding by working with therapists, healers, and health practitioners who helped me uncover the root causes of my pain. I learned that my struggles weren’t just my own — they were tied to generational trauma and wounds passed down through my ancestors.
It was during these dark, challenging moments that I began to truly understand myself. I confronted the parts of me that I had long feared — the parts that felt broken or unworthy. And through this process, I discovered that healing isn’t about achieving perfection. It’s about embracing every part of who I am — even the messy, painful parts — and recognizing that each part holds a vital lesson for growth.
Healing was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it has been the most rewarding. I learned to love myself unconditionally, to accept my past without shame, and to step into a life anchored in joy, authenticity, and purpose. Today, I prioritize my well-being every day, cultivating nourishing relationships and aligning myself with my highest potential.
Living Life Liberated was born from my own journey — a space where I can share the wisdom, tools, and experiences that helped me heal, so that others can do the same. I believe that no matter where you start or how broken or lost you may feel, transformation is always possible. You can reclaim your joy. You can heal. You can live a life that is true to who you are.
If my story resonates with you, know that you are not alone. The path to healing may be challenging, but every step you take leads you toward a life that is more vibrant, more fulfilling, and more aligned with the joy you deserve. You have the power to live life liberated. And I am here to walk with you every step of the way.
